Dillard lined up the offensive front at the Tornadoes 48-yard line and called his own number advancing for a 4-yard gain around the left side of the line of scrimmage. Second down brought Stewart with the carry for a 2-yard gain where Jermichael Harris made the stop for Parrish setting up third down and 4-yards. Sticking with Dillard on the rushing attack, the Lions were facing third down and inches at just near the first down marker, but following another carry by Dillard over right guard, the Lions were facing first down and goal at the 10-yard line. Stewart took the hand-off on first down but was met in the back field by Reginald Harris for a 2-yard loss. Harris over the right side of the line of scrimmage fighting his way to the Lion 44-yard line setting up another set of downs for the Tornado offense before Stewart and T.J. Pratt made the stop for Hubbertville. Sticking with J. Harris on the carry, the same route was ran but Aaron Dillard, Palmer, Stewart and Pratt were there for the stop following a 2- yard gain. Harris deep down field was incomplete. Miller made the stop on Piper on second down after a 2-yard gain as the first quarter of play came to an end. Reverting back to the passing game, Thomas connected with J. Harris on the side line but he was met immediately by Jenkins, Stewart and Dillard for the stop after a 2-yard gain to set up fourth down and 6-yards. The Parrish coaching staff elected to punt the ball away with Stewart and Aldridge back deep to receive for the Lions but the ball came to a rolling stop at the 17-yard line.

Dakota Dozier continued to make his presence on the field known by fighting his way into the backfield and sacking Thomas at the 36-yard line with .22 seconds remaining in the half. Third down brought Thomas with a keeper scrambling around and breaking away from would be tacklers deep in the backfield before making his way downfield to the 18-yard line and out of bounds. The Tornadoes were penalized for holding on the play moving the ball back down field to the Lion 42-yard line setting up third down with 4.1 seconds remaining on the clock. with little time ticking off the clock in the second half of play the Tornadoes were building their lead. The PAT kick was successful raising the score to 13 - 3.
Dillard, Palmer and Stewart lined up deep to receive the ensuing kick with Palmer advancing from the 24-yard line to the Lion 37-yard line to set up the Lion offense. First down brought a passing attempt from Dillard to Stewart but the ball fell incomplete. On second down, Dillard advanced the ball just across the 46-yard line on a keeper but was denied the first down without an official measurement. Dillard called his own number on fourth down and was met by a host of defenders but picked up the first down just across the 48-yard line. Following an off-sides call against the Tornadoes, Dillard called his own number again and advanced over right tackle to set up second down and 1-yard at the 43-yard line. Stewart was met in the backfield by Desmond Brown on second down for a 1-yard loss and Dillard was met by a host of angry defenders on third down to set up fourth down and inches just near the first down marker at the 42-yard line. Attempting to gain the needed yardage on fourth down paid off as the Purple Tornadoes jumped off sides moving the ball to the 38-yard line and giving the Lion offense another set of downs. Stewart got the call to carry on first down but was met at the line of scrimmage by D. Brown and a host of other defenders to set up second down and 10-yards. Dillard advanced up the middle on second down but was met at the line by Brodrick Sanders, J. Harris and others for the stop. Christopher Evans took the hand-off on second down and rumbled his way around the left side of the line of scrimmage before cutting back up the middle of the field heading for the end zone before Hill chased him down and made the saving tackle. Facing first down at the 23-yard line, Evans got the call to carry again and was brought down by Stewart after an 8-yard gain. J. Harris took the hand-off and rambled his way into the end zone untouched for a 15-yard rushing touchdown with 1:29 remaining in the third quarter of play. The PAT kick was unsuccessful and the score stood 19 - 3.
Palmer received the ensuing kick at the 18-yard line and raced his way up field to the 35-yard line before being brought down by a host of defenders. First down brought Dillard connecting thru the air with Vess Benton who advanced to the Lion 43-yard line before he was knocked out of bounds. On second down Dillard attempted another air connection with Benton but the ball fell incomplete setting third down and 2-yards for the Lions. Dillard called his own number and advanced around the left side of the line of scrimmage behind excellent blocking reaching the Parrish 48-yard line before Brown made the saving tackle. Pratt was Dillard's target once again on first down but the pass connection was unsuccessful as time expired on the third quarter of play.
Dillard called on Benton again on second down with a completion moving the Lion offense to the 32-yard line with a new set of downs. Miller got the call to carry the ball on first down and advanced over right tackle for a 4-yard gain. Dillard went back to the air attack attempting to connect with Benton but the ball fell incomplete. A penalty against the Lions for illegal procedure set the offense up for a replay of downs, facing second down and 11-yards at the 33-yard line. Attempting to connect deep down field with Benton was unsuccessful on the replay of downs to bring up third down. Dillard stuck with the air attack and connected with Miller on a screen pass with Miller advancing the ball to the 20-yard line before being brought down by a host of defenders. With a new set of downs, Dillard advanced the ball around the left side line but was stopped after a 1-yard gain. Reverting back to the passing attack was a disastrous decision as J. Harris stepped in front of the pass intended for Benton and raced his way down field fighting off would be tacklers into the end zone for his third touchdown of the evening. The PAT kick was once again unsuccessful but the Tornadoes were penalized for an illegal procedure pushing the ball back 5-yards to provide another opportunity. The second kick was unsuccessful leaving the Parrish lead at 25 - 3 with 9:29 remaining in the ball game.

Following the penalty yardage mark-off the Lion offense was setting at their own 48-yard line with a first down. Pratt brought the ball down from the air on first down advancing for a 2-yard gain. Facing second down and 2-yards, Stewart took the hand-off and rambled his way over right tackle following his blockers and racing down field to the 2-yard line before J. Harris could chase him down and make the touchdown saving tackle just short of the goal line. Not to be held out of the end zone, Stewart advanced over right guard with the snap of the ball for the first touchdown of the evening for Hubbertville with 7:41 remaining in the ball game. The Lions lined up for the two point conversion on the PAT and Dillard rushed into the end zone around the right side for the points to leave the score standing at 25 - 11 in favor of the visiting Purple Tornadoes.
J. Harris lined up back to receive the ensuing kick for Parrish but Aldridge was the recipient of the ball following a successful onside kick by Dillard.
First down from the Tornadoes 46-yard line brought a passing attempt from Dillard to Benton but the pass was incomplete. On second down, Stewart took the hand off and fought his way up the middle for a 4-yard gain. Dillard attempted to connect thru the air with Aldridge along the right side line on third down but the pass was incomplete to set up fourth down and 6-yards at the Tornado 42-yard line. The Lion coaching staff decided to go for the needed yardage with time remaining on the clock. Dillard took the snap and pitched the ball out to Benton in the back field with Benton laddering the ball over to Stewart along the left side of the line of scrimmage for a successful carry down the left side lines where he was knocked out of bounds at the 6-yard line. First down brought Dillard fighting his way into the end zone for the score with 6:23 showing on the game clock. The PAT kick by Dillard was good but the Lions were penalized for an illegal procedure to force a re-kick from 5-yards back. Once again the Lions were penalized for an illegal procedure on the re-kick and the score remained standing at 25 - 17 in favor of Parrish.
The Lion kick team attempted another on-side kick but officials ruled that the ball did not travel the required yardage setting up Thomas and the Tornadoes  offense at the Lion 48-yard line. Marcus Harris took the hand off on first down and was brought down by Pratt, Miller and Jenkins after a 3-yard gain. Robertson and Jenkins burst across the line of scrimmage and met J. Harris in the backfield for a 4-yard loss setting up third down and 11-yards for the Purple Tornadoes. Thomas elected to go deep down field thru the air but the ball was overthrown and the Tornadoes were penalized with an illegal procedures call which the Lion coaching staff declined to set up fourth down.  Stewart lined up deep to receive the punt but Dakota Dozier made his way into the back field successfully blocking the punt with David Aldridge scooping up the ball and racing down the left side line into the end zone for what appeared to be a Lion touchdown as penalty flags littered the field. But following conference by the game officials the penalty was against the Purple Tornadoes and the touchdown by Aldridge stood with 4:33 remaining in the ball game. The PAT attempt, a two point conversion to tie the score was successful with Dillard taking the ball to the end zone behind his blockers.
Tanner Wood lined up deep to receive the ensuing kick from Dillard and made the reception at the 28-yard line advancing to the 40-yard line before Jenkins made the tackle. J. Harris took the hand-off on first down but was met by Marcum for the stop after a 2-yard gain. Second down brought Thomas with a pitch-out to R. Harris but Aldridge forced him out of bounds at the Lion 46-yard line. With a new set of downs, R. Harris scrambled around the right side of the line of scrimmage and then cut back across the middle to the left side of the field fighting his way for a 9-yard gain before Stewart and Pratt made the tackle for the Lions. Facing second and 1-yard, M. Harris got the call to carry and raced around the right side of the line of scrimmage but Robertson and Miller made the stop. Following a penalty for an illegal procedure, the Tornadoes were facing a replay of downs at the Lion 42-yard line. J. Harris took the hand-off and raced around the right side lines where Aldridge brought him down to set up what appeared to be third down and inches but following a measurement by officials the Tornadoes were setting at the Lion 36-yard line with a first down. J. Harris once again gets the call to carry the ball and races around the left side line where Aldridge knocked him out of bounds at the 6-yard line to save the score. First down brought a Quarterback keeper up the middle but a host of Lion defenders made the stop to set up second down and goal at the 2-yard line. J. Harris was stopped in the backfield by a strong defensive stand by Marcum, Robertson, Price and Oden and penalty flags once again littered the field. Following discussion among the officials it was determined that no penalty occurred and the Tornadoes were facing third down and goal from the Lion 4-yard line. The pitch out to R. Harris was unsuccessful as Stewart made his way into the backfield for the tackle at the 6-yard line to set up fourth down and goal. Following a time out by Parrish which left 9.1 seconds remaining, the Tornadoes attempted a field goal which would have given them the lead but with 4.6 seconds remaining the kick was unsuccessful leaving the score tied following a strong defensive stand by the home standing Lions.
With the Lions taking over on downs at their own 20-yard line, the Lion coaching staff wasn't taking any chances for a heartbreaking mistake so Dillard was instructed to take a knee following the snap as time expired to take the game into over-time.
Team captains met at mid-field with Hubbertville winning the coin toss and lining up on offense to attempt the first score in over-time.
First down brought more of Dillard on the rushing attack with a successful carry up the middle for a 4-yard gain before Sanders and a host of other defenders made the stop. Not to be withheld, Dillard called his own number facing second down and 6-yards, bursting his way over right tackle into the end zone for his second rushing touchdown of the evening. The PAT attempt looked to be misfortunate for Hubbertville as Dillard's kick sailed over the right side of the uprights just outside of the goal post.
The Purple Tornadoes offense took to the field for  their scoring attempt but were guided by a new signal caller as Freshman quarterback Tanner Woods lined up to lead the Parrish fight. J. Harris was met at the 7-yard line for the stop by Dillard on first down. Woods called his own number on second down in what appeared to be an attempt to catch the Lion defense off guard but Hill and Jenkins were on the spot to sack him for a 1-yard loss. Facing third down and 8-yards, J. Harris took the hand-off and attempted to gain yardage around the left side of the line of scrimmage but Dillard made the tackle along with a host of Lion defenders. The Tornadoes were penalized for an illegal procedure moving the ball back to the 11-yard line and setting up a replay of downs. On the replay of downs, Woods found himself scrambling around in the backfield before Hill and Miller made the sack to bring up fourth down at the 16-yard line. An incomplete pass near the gal line on the left side of the line of scrimmage brought the game to a close with the Lions pulling off a fourth quarter come from behind victory over the visiting Purple Tornadoes by a score of 31 - 25.
Comments from Coach Lamar Harris:
"I'm so proud of our guys for pulling out the win. We started the game out playing very poorly and extended that through three quarters of play. We had no reaction on the offensive side of the ball in the first three quarters of the game and that was almost a disaster for the team. Something clicked and we decided to pick up the pace in the fourth quarter with the passing game being beneficial to our success, along with the blocked punt by Dozier and the defensive stands in the closing quarter. I'm extremely proud of our defensive battle tonight but all in all I'm proud of the guys for standing as a team and fighting to get this win. The big question when we got behind by three touchdowns was how would our guys react? Would they get down or fight back. Our response tonight was great and what we expect from this group of guys. They fought back and got the win."
The Lions will travel across county on Friday night to visit their arch-rival the Berry Wildcats in another regional match-up. Game time is 7 p.m.
