The Lions knew going into their last region 5 game of the season on Friday night that the stakes were high. Prior to game night, coach Lamar Harris called upon his senior players for leadership encouraging them to play the game with emotion and domination. Senior players who were elected by their teammates to serve as team captains met at centerfield with the Lions winning the coin toss to get the much anticipated battle underway.

Comments from Coach Lamar Harris:
"Our hopes were to start the game with a commanding lead. We won the coin toss electing to receive with hopes of putting points on the scoreboard first. Although we turned the ball over on the kick off thankfully our defense stood ground and we got the ball back without allowing a score. We did get a little lax on defense in the third quarter after taking the lead into the locker room. We kept letting them hang around within striking distance which is not a good thing by any means but we managed to keep their defense on their toes as well staying in a battle for both field position and time of possession. In the end our game plan was successful and we survived to make it to the first round of the play-offs. This win is great for this group of guys. They set goals early in the year and one of their goals was to walk off the field with this win."
