Facing first down and goal, Palmer was called upon to advance the ball once again and he pushed the Lions deeper to the 1-yard line before Garrett Trull could make the saving tackle. With the ball resting just inside the 1-yard line, Nichols called his own number but was met at the line of scrimmage for no gain resulting in third down and goal.
