Comments from Head Coach Lamar Harris:
"It was a disappointing way to end the season by getting beat in the championship game but we found ourselves in a very difficult contest in this game today. We just couldn't match-up against the athletes on their team and it was a hard fought, difficult match-up from the opening kick. We found ourselves in a very difficult position from the starting drive of the game and they proved that they came here ready for the win by setting the tone early in the game. Our guys did not play as good nor as capable as they've played in other games, but they were facing a very strong and well coached team, a team who advanced to the final game last year and lost to Pickens County for the championship. They're a great team and they are very physical, really aggressive and they field a lot of good athletes. I'm proud of my players and proud of the fight which they've had in them throughout the year. This group of guys have remained bonded together and stayed focused on their goals despite some initial set-backs throughout the season. This has been a great experience for this group of guys, one which they will always cherish. We've had the privilege of making school history by advancing to the championship finals and these senior players will always have that accomplishment attached to them. Our seniors have been outstanding and have provided excellent leadership to our underclassmen and it's been a pleasure coaching this team to this game. It was a goal which was set early during our practices and the guys truly believed that they could accomplish this goal and remained dedicated day in and day out in their pursuit. We graduate eleven seniors from this team and each one has had their own individual impact at some point in the season by being a dedicated member of this team. They've remained in the program and have done what has been asked throughout the season and that speaks volume for their character. The large crowd of fan support which followed us down to the championship game today was very supportive as they have been throughout the season. We're proud for of the support for our players, proud for our school and our community and just wish we could have walked off the field with different results and come away with the win."
