The number 10 ranked undefeated Lynn Bears made a visit south to Hubbertville with a strong determination to depart Wiley Hollingsworth stadium with a win to remain on the top tier in Region 5 play.

The Lion football players had a determination of their own and were coming into the game following a strong win over the Holy Spirit Titans game of last week.  The Lions won the coin toss and elected to receive the opening kick-off.  Aaron Dillard, Dylan Dillard and Dillon Tucker lined up deep to receive the opening kick from Caleb Crowe to get the game underway.

Inching closer to the Bears red-zone, on first down McCollum called on D. Tucker to carry the ball again with a gain of 2-yards prior to the stop being made by Dakota Bell.  Sticking with D. Tucker the Lion offense moved the ball to the Bears 21-yard line on second down to bring up third down and 1-yard.  D. Dillard advanced over left guard pushing the ball to the 15-yard line giving the Lions momentum on their opening drive.  On first down Aaron Dillard took the hand-off and scampered up the middle into the end zone giving the Lions an early lead in the game with 5:43 showing on the clock.  On the PAT attempt, A. Dillard's kick sailed right down the middle of the uprights and the score stood 7-0 Lions.

Aaron Dillard's ensuing kick was received by Legg who signaled for a fair catch at the 37-yard line.  On first down, Casey Hulsey took the hand-off from Bears Quarterback Brody Meeks and rushed up the middle where he was met by Wade Tidwell for the stop after a 3-yard gain.  Meeks went to the air on the next snap and connected with David Henson but McCollum and Mikey McCraw were there to hold the line for the Lions.  Facing third down and 7-yards, Meeks stuck with the passing attack and connected over the middle with Henson who scrambled to the 43-yard line where D. Dillard made the stop.  Meeks on a keeper gained 6-yards on first down and on second down the Bears rushed around the right for a first down at the Lion 30-yard line.  The Bears were penalized on first down for illegal procedure moving the ball back to the 35-yard line.  On the replay of the down, Tidwell brought heavy pressure on Meeks and McCraw stepped in front of an intended pass intercepting the ball for the Lions.  Following a penalty for holding against the Bears the Lions lined up at their own 29-yard line for first down.  A.
